Toowong BCC Library
this morning, i heard some breathing voice inside my room.... but i didn't see Toffee... then i found that my sleeping bag seems abnormal... should be only got a pillow... and i found Toffee was hidden inside my sleeping bag....
after a while, he moved to auntie's bed... also inside the blanket.... so adorable...
after that May asked me out to enjoy breakfast then go to study at Toowong BCC library.....
i chose my favourite egg benedict... with smoked salmon and poached eggs.... i love it...
--------------------------------------------
while May was studying, i tried to finished my visual diary... actually i started draw this a few days b4, when i was waiting for the train every morning...
i illustrated some dishes of Little Singapore... i juz want to note those interesting things down...
------------------------------------
then i read a good article abt bride kidnapping. okay, i do a little review.
This Woman is Being forced to Get Married.
that is from a soviet country called Kyrgyzstan (i really no idea on where it is).
most girl were forced to get married by kidnapping...
"Even if a woman eventually escapes her kidnapper's home, she is considered runined, because her virginity will be in question." they are often raped.
If they leave, they will be cursed. sometimes the bride's parents may support the kidnappers side. "If u leave, you're going to shame us all."
the police would consider it's not a crime but tradition.
some girls may committed suicide afterwards.
most of them even chose to get marry with the kidnappers, but their husband treated them badly.... juz treated them as a slave... that's why they lived in fear...
they would being forced to stop their educations...
one of the girl who had escaped from kidnapped, are now conducting workshops abt bride kidnapping, to educate the youngsters. Let the girls know they can say no and the boys not going to kidnap anymore. even asking their parents sign, agree to support their children's decisions.
now the girls' heads go up, their shoulders go back. And brave to ask "we can talk abt this? we can say no?"
Bride kidnapping is NOT tradition, This is a crime.
i'm not a feminist, but i do think if girls are being force to get marry are so poor. and those husband are not treating them well.... if those husbands are loving their wives, mayb we still can say it's traditional... if being a slave.... it's sad...
